Here are 8 selected places to camp in Rio de Janeiro, including both well-known spots and quieter locations.

Surrounded by preserved Atlantic Forest, the beach has limited sunlight during the day, which makes it even more quiet and relaxing.
Access requires a one-hour trail, which helps preserve the area.
Located about 25 km from Paraty, inside the Cairuçu Environmental Protection Area, Praia do Sono has a very simple structure.
Local residents offer basic food and allow camping in their backyards.
Besides the beach, visitors can explore trails leading to natural pools and waterfalls.
There are also more challenging trails to nearby wild beaches such as Antigos and Antiguinhos.

Trindade is a good option for those who want a balance between nature and basic infrastructure.
Also located near Paraty, about 30 km from the town center, it is easily accessible, including by public transport.
The village offers several beaches, such as Praia do Meio, Praia dos Ranchos and Praia Brava.
The natural pool of Cachadaço is one of the main attractions, especially for beginner swimmers.
